Troop 518 has a long history in the Red Bank area of Lexington
County. Since it’s rebirth in March 2006 and affiliation with Red
Bank United Methodist Church, the Troop has grown and
prospered into an organization that is dedicated to teaching
our young men outdoor skills, morals, values and a
commitment to God and country. We believe in family,
education, scouting, and religion is a firm foundation which to
raise healthy and productive children.

Currently there are
24 young men ranging in ages from 11-16
years old. They hold the ranks of Scout to Life Scout, with two
Eagle Scouts on the horizon. Currently there are two Assistant
Scout Masters along with the Scout Master. All leaders are
currently certified or in the process of being certified through
BSA.

The leadership is faithful and stanch in providing a solid BSA
Program and a wholesome environment for these young men
to grow and flourish. It is the goal of Troop 518  that these
young men enjoy their Scouting experience and learn lessons
and skills that they will carry with them through the rest of
their lives.

Troop 518 meets on Monday evening at 6:30pm at the Red
Bank United Methodist Church in the Youth Building behind
the church. Troop 518 provides skilled instruction for the
advancement badges, merit badges, and has a solid once a
month camping program, except July – August. Past trips have
included weekend trips to Lake Murray
, Charleston, Pisgah
National Fores
t and other various locations.
